This "Classique" poster was created for Jean Paul Gaultier's Summer Collection of fragrance in 2005. Intended for display inside of stores, likely in the cosmetic section, the poster is eye-catching. The central image is of a mannequin covered in flowers, reminding the viewer that Gaultier is a couture brand and that the perfume has a floral scent. The soft pink background heightens the feminine look and feel of the image. Jean Paul Gaultier describes himself as the "Enfant Terrible de la Mode"; the bad boy of high fashion. Born in 1953 outside of Paris, Gaultier never received formal training and instead built his career in the more traditional track of apprenticeship with Paul Cardin. He made a name for himself in the early 1980s as a haute-couture designer looking to break boundaries, and has maintained a line of perfumes alongside his clothing since 1993. The perfume bottle designs always represent a male or female mannequin. This is an Original Vintage Poster. It is not a reproduction. This poster is printed on heavyweight paper, and is in excellent condition. Purchased from reputable auction house with guarantee of authenticity, included.
